Growing Up

J.D. had to give his Egypt report yesterday. He looked so big standing up there and he did it all by himself. He is such a good boy and I am so proud to be his mama! Love you J.D.

Broken Nose

J.D. broke his nose tonight. We had been at the splash pad for 5 minutes and I hear Ross calling me and I look over to see J.D. covered in blood. He was playing with another little boy and they were holding their noses and sticking their faces in the water with their eyes closed..... And the little boys head hit J.D. right on the bridge of the nose.

J.D. was freaking out!! Of course there was a lot of blood and he was really scared to go to the hospital. He thought the x-rays were cool. He was getting quit impatient. He kept asking where the doctor was.
It's broke. But it's only a fracture and it should heal okay. We have to wait for the swelling to go down and make sure it heals straight, but it should. It's a tiny fracture. What a crazy experience.
On the way home, this was J.D.'s lament, "I'm the kid that always gets hurt. The other day I fell down the red mountain and that wasn't cool . Today a kid hits me in the face with his head, and his head is solid, it was like ice. And it hurt."
Thank heavens we didn't have to reset it. I would have passed out into a puddle on the floor.

J.D.'s Family Party

This is the happiest Cowboy in the whole wide worlds. The boy made out like a bandit and got all his cowboy wants and wishes filled.

Maggie and Eric gave J.D. an Ipod shuffle for his birthday. He was so excited! They wrapped it in a box filled with Reeses. He was excited and went to set it aside and Kris said, "J.D. count how many reeses there are." So he started counting 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ( screams it)IPOD!, 6,7,8,9,10. He just kept right on counting. It was so funny. This was right when he saw the ipod. He listened to it all day today. It was frustrating me at the store because he couldn't hear me because he had it on. He also sings at the top of lungs to it. I don't think he realizes we can hear him, since he can't hear himself. A cowboy who sings High School Musical 3 songs all day!

Every year the boy gets boots and wranglers for his birthday. It started the year he turned 3. You think he would be sick of it, but nope. Every year, it's what he asks for.

Hope your day was the greatest, just like you. Love you J.D.

Where does the time go? Seems like only yesterday he was a sweet little baby!! Let me tell ya about this kid. He's super sweet and the best helper when he wants to be. He loves baby's, but especially his little sister. He loves wolves and loves to watch Animal Planet. He loves to wear cowboy boots, wranglers, and a hat. Oh, and a great big belt buckle. He loves to eat and especially loves treats, a trait he inherited from his mom! He loves to go camping, fishing and shooting. He loves his Grandpa Doty probably the best in the whole world and he loves to snuggle. I told him yesterday that he better still give me hugs when he's 30!! I bet ya he will. He loves to antagonize Tyson and hates to go to Costco and D.I. He loves to play with friends and sings when he is in the bathroom. He also howls when we go to public restrooms, I think he likes the echo. It's rather embarrassing.

He told me the other day that he knew why he had a big head. He said Aunt Trina told him he had a big head because his brain was so big and that is why he is so smart. J.D. loves to read, especially Magic Treehouse books and loves to play on the computer. His best-friend is BayLee and has been for all his life. He has a HUGE crush on a girl named Holly he always pretends to be Edward Cullen when we make up bedtime stories. He says that if he wouldn't be able to choose between being a wizard or a vampire, so he'd be a wizard-vampire. They have those you know?? He tells the most amazing stories, tall tales that you can never believe and he is by far the coolest 7-year-old I know.

We love you J.D. You so rock and are so awesome!!!!! Hope you have a great birthday!!

J.D. was born on a great day! He shares it with his Grandparents anniversary and he also shares his birthday with his Great-Grandad Ward, who was his very special buddy! Miss you Grandad!

A Conversation with J.D.

This morning while I was in the bathroom getting ready, J.D. was sitting in his room reading a book. All of the sudden, J.D. says, "Mom, your not supposed to feed wild animals."
I said, "That's right J.D., if you feed them, it might make them sick." J.D. says, "This boy should be in trouble, he's feeding a moose a muffin!" I started to laugh and I said, "J.D., are you reading If You Give a Moose a Muffin?" He says, "Yes." I asked him what other stories were in that book, and he replied, "If you Give a Mouse a Cookie and Mom, their giving Pigs Pancakes!!"

I just thought it was funny! He was so indignant that they would feed a moose a muffin, even if it was in a storybook.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

Today was the Kite Festival. It was a lot of fun. We headed out bright and early so that we could get one of the really cool kites, and they has some awesome Star Wars ones. But when we got up to get one, they told us that only 4th and 5th graders could have those. WELL THAT STINKS! So we got a Cars one and J.D. still is not very happy that he couldn't have the Star Wars one. Silly rule anyway.

There was no wind at the Kite Festival, this was actually taken at the park this afternoon. We had a fun time flying it. Kites get tangled up easily. We spent most of our time untangeling the kite. We tried to fly our kites from last year and we couldn't even get them up. But with only one adult, it's hard to keep 2 up and flying.
They had around 10 bounce houses there. We spent a little money on the bounce houses. The kids had a blast, though.

Piper did not like the bounce houses. The lady working this one gave me her ticket back. She just cried and kept trying to climb out.

This was a cool one. It's the velcro suit one. J.D. was cracking me up. He couldn't get very high, so he didn't get really stuck to it. He looks cute in his velcro suit. He looked like a bug hitting the windshield. So funny to watch.

The kids rode this fun train twice. They would have just ridden it all day if we had let them. We hung out with Mandee and Adam and their kids. J.D., BayLee & Logan are spit brother and sisters. Logan is J.D.'s bro, and they had a lot of fun hanging out. Thanks to the Dovers for all their help! I would have been a basket case without you guys!

What A Stud

J.D. loves to ride his dirt bike, but we don't get to do it often down here. We have to load up the bikes and drive out to the desert to ride and Josh works a lot, so there isn't really much time when we can do it.

Here is Uncle Austin helping him get going the first time.
J.D. is riding Brannigan's bike. We should take his with us next time we go to Marysvale.

What a stud!

New Bikes

People will probably think that Josh and I are crazy, but we bought the kids new bikes, just because they needed them. Well, J.D. was going to get one for his birthday, but I kinda backed Yukon over the top of Tyson's bike last week. It kind of necessitated the need for them. They are my sanity savers thought, J.D. rides his bike all day long! It's what he loves to do! They were so excited. I wanted to buy Piper a cute Radio Flyer bike, but it was $42.00 and Josh put his foot down. So she got a ball that was $2.50. It's just about as big as she is, but she was happy!!
The kids just had to ride them and after a few adjustment's they did! At 10:00 o'clock at night. Bet the neighbors loved that!! We only let them do it for about 10 minutes, but tomorrow should be a blast!! Yeah, hopefully I won't need to entertain tomorrow.

J.D., the birds & the bee's

J.D. has been saving his money to buy a stuffed wolf. The boy loves wolves. He has a big one he got for Christmas, 3 years ago, named Balto. He saved up enough to buy a small wolf and when we went to the store, it was gone. But there was a bigger one, but he needed $4.00 more to buy it. I told him that if he was good for the dentist today, I would give him the $4.00.

To make a long story short, he was very good for the dentist, so we went to the store and got his wolf. When we went to pick up Piper from Grandpa, he was discussing naming his wolf with Grandpa.

Grandpa was throwing out lots of name ideas. Maybe he could be Fred, George, or possibly Wolfie. Then J.D. says, "I want her to be a girl dog. That way her and Balto can have puppies." WHAT DO YOU SAY TO THAT? Me and Grandpa, were trying really hard not to laugh. Grandpa said, "I think you need to go home and have a talk with J.D."

The wolf's name is Princess. Just in case you wondering......

Converstaions with J.D.

Me: J.D. you look like an orphan. I am throwing those pants away.

J.D.: No they make me look like a teenager.

Me: They do not.

J.D. I saw a teenager wearing pants like these and he looked cool. I want to be a teenager.

Me: Why?

J.D.: Because teenagers are cool and they wear their hats like this. (sideways)

Me: You don't want to be a teenager yet. Your still little and it will make me sad if you grow up so fast.

J.D.: I still want to be a teenager because they walk to the school bus by themselves.

J.D.'s First Hunting Trip

Josh took J.D. hunting with him this weekend in Marysvale. They went with Josh's dad, and his good friend C.J. and C.J's little boy Jayden. They had a lot of fun looking for elk and J.D. say's that him and Grandpa saw a 5 x 5 bull. He also told me that he shot a squirrel in the tail with his B.B. gun. He had a lot of fun. I will have to get more details from him when he is not so tired!!

J.D. & Neville The Toad

This is the infamous Toad from two posts ago!! J.D. took him to school and gave him to his teacher. He wanted to name him Harry Potter, but I said let's name him Trevor because that is Neville's toad's name on Harry Potter. So he named him Neville! Kids are silly! Gotta love them though!
