Fishing at the Ponds

Grandpa Lawrence

I had the privelage of attending the funeral for my grandpa,  John Thomas Lawrence.  He was a retired airman.  He was able to buried in the Mira Mar National Cemetary in Sand Diego.

Aunt Mary asked me to take pictures.  An almost impossible task, because of the tears that were streaming down my face.
This is my favorite picture from the day.  Such a touching moment when they handed that flag to my swee grandma.

Here is my grandma with almost all of her grandkids.  The only one missing is Priscilla!  So sad she couldn't make it. I don't even think we have a picture of all of us from being children.  We were so scattered and it had been years and years since I had seen any of Uncle Davids kids.  Back Row: Michelle, Sherry, Micheal, Willy, Austin, Danny and front row is Me, Amber, Grandma and Jason.

Great-Grand-Kids!  Michelle was able to bring her two girls, Micheal brought his oldest two boys, I had Jd and of couse Ambers cute little Chadwick!  These kids instantly hit it off and JD was sad to leave "his people" behind. All of them have been military kids so he thinks they are the coolest kids in the whole entire world.

My sweet Grandma with her kids!  I wish we had been able to get one of these beofre my grandpa passed away.  Gladys, Bill, David, Ruth and Grandma Phyllis!
Whew, that's a lot of us and quite a few are missing!  What a group!
My family and grandma.  I love this picture.  The leading up to it moments are hillarious.  It's no wonder Danny and JD are goofy.  They are rleated to my grandma!
Amber and Austin!  What a duo! Austin lived with grandma and grandpa for a few years so he grew pretty close to those California cousins of ours!
Me and my baby brother.  Seriously, the Privitt blood runs thick through our veins.  We defiently have the Privitt look.

Jd was in heaven!  He would have stayed at the cemetary all day if he could have.  He was so happy that I took him and that he got to attend the funeral.  It was a pretty neat day for my military kid.

Conference weekend

Conference weekend was a little weird for us this time around.  Josh was in Marysvale and he took JD with him, so it was just me and these 2 yahoo's.
After the Sunday afternoon conference we went to the park to get out of the house for a minute and burn off some energy.
The kids love this park!  Too bad it's clear across town and we don't make it there often enough.
They had a great day and got along!  I'm so glad I documented it, because it doesn't happen often!
A family had a couple of kites and as they were leaving they handed one of them off to us and told us to keep it.  So the kids had a chance to fly a kite.
Love these pictures, because they are so sweet!

Pinewood Derby

JD wanted to make a bullet. What a project!  Glad it was him and dad.
Tyson made a Camaro.  Painted to look just like Bumblebee.
My goodness he's cute! He was beside himself excited for his first derby.
JD on deck.
You have to make sure it is placed just right.
Throwing up some signs.  Weirdo :)
Yes!  I won!
Tyson took 2nd place in the wolves and was actually able to advance to the Scout Expo, becuase the first boy, didn't want to go. He only beat him by 200ths of a second.
JD won coolest design and was able to advance to the scout expo in the design catagory.

All I can say, is that I am glad that the Scout Expo only comes around once a year!  So much work and love go into these cars, but so does a lot of time. They did a great job though and we were so proud of all of the boys!
