Kids Say Funny Things

Tyson was in fixing his hair in the bathroom. Making it all spiky. I asked him what he was doing and he said, "Fixing my hair for my girlfriend. I wanna go show Addie how cute I am." Too funny! He is pretty cute.

We went and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks tonight. Piper was killing me!! Every time the chipmunks would sing she would jump off her chair and dance in the aisle. Soo cute! Then I took her to the bathroom and she was singing for me. La, la, la, do, do, do!

As we were driving home, J.D. asked me why their were camera's on the stoplights. So I told it was for wrecks or to see if people run the lights and he say's, "Or for like people who stick guns out of their windows? You know, like gangsters. They say their friends and then they shoot each other. And they rob and steal from people. And every time they see a security camera they shoot it out." INTERESTING! What has my kid been watching????

Haunted Mansions

Posted by Picasa

This is a tradition at our house. We make haunted mansions for Halloween every year. My kids love it. They also love making them at Christmas time. But it's the shooting of the gingerbread houses that they love the most. Oh, and the eating of the candy, while they make the mansions. The great thing about haunted mansions, is they don't have to be perfect, so the kids love to make them. If your interested in the frosting recipe, go here.

Toy Story

Mandee and I took the kids to see the double feature Toy Story in 3D. It was pretty fun. A long afternoon, though. The kids had a blast.

J.D. in all 2 pairs of the kids glasses. My head hurt so bad from watching the movie through butter covered glasses. Thanks Tyson!
The Toy Story Posse. I didn't even think to take Tyson's Woody or Piper's Jessie doll. They are the size of Baylee's. courtesy of Disneyland.
Best Buddies. They had the popcorn tub inbetween them and we ended up going through almost 2 full tubs. J.D. was so sick afterwards. He had to keep running to the bathroom.
Me and Miss Mandee!

He looks like the old man from UP. So stinkin' cute!
Hanging with my boys! Love them!

The Sun Will Come Out....

I live just up the street from one of the funnest and greatest stages in all the world.
At least, it's pretty famous for Utah. It's the Tuachan Amphitheater. Every year I take my kids to one of the plays. This was Tyson's first year and he was a little star struck. I asked him in the car, what he liked best and he said, "That girl!" Another girl crazy boy!

Mandee and her family were there, but they weren't sitting with us. Of course after, and during intermission the kids had to hang together.
The kids went through and had the play bill signed by the main characters. This gentleman, who played FDR was amazing! The whole cast was very well put together and they all did a phenomenal job.
Doesn't Tyson make a cute Annie?
The boys.
Okay, so Tyson makes a cuter Sandy and BayLee makes a pretty cute Annie!
Tyson was so into it. He kept leaning over to me and saying, he didn't like Mrs. Hannigan, she was a mean girl. He would clap and say, YEAH every time it was time to clap. Grandma Becky went with us and she thought it was a lot of fun also.
I want my boys to learn how to appreciate theater and have a little bit of culture in their lives. My hubby doesn't do plays. Especially musicals. So I hope they can learn to like them and appreciate the work that goes into each production.
If you live close by, it's definitely worth seeing! I think I might go to Aida, in the next few weeks. Footloose looks good too. I am so excited for next year because they are bringing Tarzan, the first non-Broadway stage to be able to perform it! It will be sooo Coool!

Our Week In Pictures

It's been so busy! Dang, PTO. But it's good. I'm glad I can step up and help out. Lot's of other parents don't, so it's good. My little rant today. Sorry, it's been a bad week for volunteers.

Piper got into my make up and made herself BeaUtiFulL!
Josh took the boys to the Dixie Round Up on Friday Night. They only stayed for an hour and a half! The boys were falling asleep.

J.D. in his elelment!
We went to Salt Lake for the Alisons Pantry food show. It was a blast!! Danny wrecked his car last week and now he's trying to fix his other Monte Carlo, and needed Josh to come help him.

Me & my brother. Why do boys always have to mess around when the camera is out?
We went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse with Adam, Lindsay, Quinton & Danny. It was a lot of fun. Hanging out in the parking lot after dinner was a blast! Only Adam can make me laugh like that!

See this cute squishy face.........
I love it & I love him!
We played peek-a-boo across the table and bonded!
Me & Quinton.
made me miss my kiddo's and I was sure glad to come home to them.
Thanks to Maggie & Eric for watching my brood while we were gone!

Birch Aquarium

While we were in California we went to the Birch Aquarium. The kids had a lot of fun looking at the fish and especially the sharks. It's definitely not as cool as Sea World, but we are saving that for a time when Daddy goes with us. I especially love the one of them in the shark cage. The only thing was, they rushed us through it. They were so excited to get to the next tank that they didn't really take time to look and do all the interactive activities. Definitely worth visiting if your in San Diego and want a cheaper activity than Sea World.

Fireworks

We didn't even make it to watch the big fireworks in town. Instead, we opted to hang out and do a few of them at grandma & granpa's house. It was such a long day and we were just done by that point. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

4th of July BBQ

We got invited to go over to a BBQ at the Olsen's house. Josh is a friend of Josh's. Does that make sense? Ammon and the 2 Josh's went to High School together. They hadn't seen each other in quite a few years and so it was fun for them to get to hang out. Charly, Josh's wife is so sweet and so nice. We had a great time!

What a good-lookin' bunch! Alway's have a blast when we hang with the Carters.
My good-lookin boys. They were running away from Ammon. All the boys were throwing snaps at Ammon and having a great time.

I thought this was a pretty good picture. Trina was snapping pictures when I wasn't looking. Thanks though, I kinda like it.

Piper and Caleb spent the whole weekend flirting with each other. What am I going to do when they all grow up and realize, they aren't really cousins???????

A couple of pyro's.
This was freakin' awesome. The boys were putting the worms in a big circle and then starting them all on fire. The kids kept saying it looked like the road was pooping. I don't know about that, but it was pretty cool.

Caleb, J.D. & Tyson just taking a break.

I love this kid. Corbin and Josh having a squeezing contest to see who could hug the hardest. I think Josh won. Look how red Corbins face is.

Fishing on the 4th

We didn't catch a dang fish. Not one! But we sure had a lot of fun. Trina and Ammon came up and went fishing with us and had a picnic at the lake. The kids sure have a lot of fun when they are together.

Corbin, J.D. & Caleb hanging out under the canopy, stuffed full of hotdogs and chips!
Piper giving J.D. a little friendly encouragement.
Josh and Ammon sitting lakeside. Josh is shooting fireflies with the bb gun. He's a total redneck if you didn't know.

Trina had this awesome hat in her van and Piper loved it. She was being so cute with it.
J.D. & Corbin. J.D. was teaching Corbin how to shoot.
Oh my...... This picture would make any mom worry. 3 boys plus 2 guns equals TROUBLE!

Piper loves Aunt Nina. Most of my pictures are courtesy of Trina. You really should go into photography Trina!
Shooting butterflies. The most accomplished moment of motherhood! He can't help it. The redneck is in his blood.
Simply darling!
Kids love to throw rocks in the lake. It wouldn't be a fishing trip without throwing a few dozen rocks.
Nothing in the world can beat hanging out with family.

He sure tried his hardest, but the dang old fish just weren't biting.
