Pioneer Day, Marysvale Style

This is possibly one of my very favorite traditions. The 24th of July in Marysvale. My kids love it, I love it, Josh loves it. Nothing beats a small town celebration.
Here are the kids on our cute float. Sherry and Mom made the cute barn in the background.
Look at Tyson! What a stud.
I had to ride on the float because Sherry has bad hay allergies. Here are me and Pip waiting to start.
We've got foot races!
And of course Carnival Games.
They all won goldfish. That died the next day. But the kids were super excited about them.
I'm gonna have to buy a beta or something.
Grandma and Piper waiting for the Fish Rodeo to start.
This is what draws people in. It's the fish rodeo. Josh and Austin are fish cops every year. They love doing it. This year their didn't seem to be as many fish.
It's chaos, but everyone loves it.
And that's how we celebrate in Marysvale!

My Side of the Family

I love my family! I do, I do! I love to go home to Marysvale. It was such a great place to grow up and a great place to be from. Easter weekend, my whole family was in town. It was great. The only one I don't get to see often is Danny, but it was fun to have all of us together.
My whole family. This is the first time we have all had a picture done in years!
Grandma and all her grandkids!

We had a tetherball tournament. I lost. I was the first one out. I think I want a tetherball post in my yard now. Apparently I suck, though. So maybe not.

Watching Sherry and Austin play was hysterical! He's like a foot taller than her!!

Ah, Dahni! Love you all!

Easter Hunt, Marysvale Style

I am getting so behind on posting pictures! Here are some of the one's from the Marysvale Easter Egg Hunt,
This was actually after it was all said and done. Piper was in the back of the truck with all the baskets. Mom and I looked over and she had unwrapped a whole package of bubble gum and put every piece in her mouth! It was hilarious. The picture does not do it justice!
Piper got some fun toy's and tons of candy.

Sherry is in charge of the Easter Egg Hunt and so we got to go down and help hide the candy. It didn't help us any in the end, because I think we only found 2 pieces that got missed. And we had Brannigan and J.D. hiding in the older kids, so they wouldn't be the ones hiding their own candy.

Tyson actually did help me hide candy in his age group! But he's the youngest of that group, so he only got a few pieces anyway.
Ashton wants a Hula-Hoop!
Waiting so patiently!
Have I mentioned, I LOVE Marysvale!

Easter - part 1

I have oodles of pictures! I'm going to have to break this down into a couple of posts. We spent the Easter weekend in Marysvale at Sherry's house. The kids had a blast. They alway's do.

Here we are coloring Easter Eggs. It was a bit chaotic with 6 little kids and 7 adults all trying to color eggs, but somehow we managed.

Grandma and J.D.
The hunt was on! The Easter bunny did a great job hiding the eggs! Twoards the end she got a little cold and just put them all over the lawn, butt was great for Piper and Riyo. Smart Easter Bunny!

Piper got a horsie in her basket! And some chapstick, of course we couldn't forget the chapstick!

J.D. was more intersted in the eggs that he could see out the kitchen window, but he got Lego Indiana Jones for the DS.

Tyson got a Cars DS game in his basket. He was super excited because this is the first DS game that is actually his and not J.D.;s.

Piper n' Riyo

These two fight like crazy. They are six months apart and the best of friends!
Here they are as twinners in their fun purple dresses. I saw a good deal on these at Target and had to buy them for the girls.
Making m&m cookies on a Sunday afternoon.

Tea Time! The girls had so much fun playing tea party.
They ate m&m's and potatoe wedges.
I hope they alway's will be the best of friends.

Games in the Park

Every year following the 24th of July Parade we go to the park to play games. I must say the prizes are much cooler than when I was a kid.

A little softball toss!
The line to the fishing pond was INSANE! We got a little bored.

Fishing for canning lids.. Got some way cool prizes here.

Like this cool ball that Piper kept ripping the pokies off of and trying to eat.

Foot races. Every year they have foot races for everyone from the crawler up to the old guys and gals! Pretty funny to watch. This cute kid won 2nd place for the 7 & 8 year old boys and won a two dollar bill. Made him the happiest kid ever! I especially love the fashion statement he's got going with the rolled up wrangers. Classic J.D.

Little Buckaroo

Another Piute Country tradition. The Little Buckaroo Rodeo, a chance for the kids to ride a sheep, swing a rope and have a good ole' time!
Piper did not compete this year. Maybe next year.... I didn't think she'd do it, but she is pretty tough. She spent most the night hanging out with Andie. Thanks a bunch to Andie, because I couldn't have done it without her.
My cute Mason riding a stick horse.
I have a little head inside a BIG hat!
Look at those baby blues!! This kid is cute.
Wrangler butts!
My Little Cowboy......

Tyson showing his roping skills. Dang cute...
2009 Piute County Mutton Busting Champion
Brenden Smith

And he's also a pretty cute kid, I might add...
I got a hug and picture of the dirt in his teeth!

What a stud! He didn't even cry and he did awesome. It's all he can talk about. Looks like I have another cowboy on my hands.
Do you see the fear in his face? He did a great job, but it made him not want to ride a calf. Apparently it hurts when you fall off the sheep.
I LOVE MY LITTLE COWBOYS!
