Fun at Grandma & Grandpa's

Saturday night we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for Maggie's birthday part. The kids had a good time playing rock band and eating lots of yummy food. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the night.

A Day of Rememberance

The other night we watched Pearl Harbor. I had to explain to J.D. what was going on and it sparked a great discussion on what it means to be patriotic. We talked about what happened at Pearl Harbor and about World War II. We talked about why it happened and about what it meant to our country. I told him about soldiers, many young men, who were killed to protect the freedom of Americans they did not know because they loved the land in which they live. I told him to be proud of the soldiers who protect his freedom today. I told him that's why we pray for Gabe and are proud that he serves his country. I told Josh that night that it was tragic that America has gone so far astray in the last 60 years. What happened to people who were proud of the country in which they lived? An era come and gone in the ashes of what is left a tragedy.

So this morning I told J.D. about September 11, 2001. Josh and I had been married for 3 weeks. I always listened to the news in the morning when I got ready. I went and woke Josh up and we sat on the couch and cried. I did not have family in New York and I did not know anyone whom this tragedy affected personally, and yet I wept for them. I wept because they had families, lives that were cut short by those who wish to oppress us. And I wept because I am proud to be American. I was proud of the stories of heroism and personal sacrifice to help other fellow Americans. I was proud of our great nation and the response in a time of need.

I had the chance to go to J.D.'s school this morning and be present for the flag raising ceremony. This is the 6th year they have done this. The American Legion was there to raise the flag and to do a tribute. It gave me cold chills to stand with my children and sing The Star Spangled Banner. I just hope that I can instill in them a sense of patriotism. I think to many people no longer have pride in the land in which they live.

I am so grateful for those who fight for my freedom. I am grateful to their families who make that supreme sacrifice with them. I am grateful that my father and my grandfathers served this great country. I am grateful for Poppa Dave and the sacrifice he made for this country and the affect it has had on his life and the lives of those who love him. I am just GRATEFUL!

Remember the soldiers in your prayers this day and give thanks for their sacrifice and their service.

Piper Hermione

Just wanted to post a few pictures of Piper. Both are from today! She is such a sweetie and she melts my heart! She's such a momma's girl and sometimes I get so frustrated, but I don't think I would have it any other way. Knowing that she is probably my last baby makes me sad. She has been such a fun baby! So happy and so WILD!! She makes Tyson and J.D. look like little angels. The girls got spunk and lot's of attitude and she's gonna need it with two big brothers!
Just wanted to share a few of my favorite moments from today.
This was Piper today playing in her little
green wagon that Sherry gave us. You'd
think she had the greatest treasure in the world.
Daddy is wrapped around this pretty, little girls finger.

Tyson's 1st Day of Preschool

Tyson is in preschool! I can hardly believe it. Seems like just yesterday I was bringing him home. Corbin and Brendan (for you Piute people, Brendan is Colby Smith's little guy) are going to school with him. They had so much fun playing before school. CUTE BOYS!!

Who Needs Music?

Tyson was wearing these head phones all over the house. He was walking around and singing all sorts of songs. He kept singing, "I got a radio, I got a radio!" Who needs music when you can hear the music in your own head?

I like this picture. It looks like Piper is looking at him and thinking, "What the heck?".

I'm Glad I did it with You

Today Josh and I have been married for 7 years! Hard to believe. When I was at girls camp, they flew in Tim Gates, who is part of a band, Due West. He came and he sang a new song that they are getting to relase and it is called I'm Glad I Did It With You. Way cute song, it talks about all the struggles that marriage brings and the funny things that go along with it. Scraping up money to buy diapers, fights, babies, and burnt dinners. It made me cry! It ends with this couple sitting on the porch swing watching their grandkids. I kept thinking about that song as I reminisced and put together this post.

I am so glad that I have experienced everything I have with Josh. He is the love of my life and my best-friend. I am grateful for our trials and our experiences. I am grateful that we are an eternal family. I am grateful that we reached that goal together and had that opportunity. I just wanted to share a few memories and like I said they are in random order.

Here we are at Pipers blessing. One of the rare times there seems to be photo's of the two of us together. I think we will be going to do a photo shoot this week. I have tons of pictures, but they are all before we went digital. I need a scanner, I guess.

Holy Crow!! Look how young we are in this picture. This was right after we got engaged.

Still super young. This was before we were engaged. Adam, Trina, and Ammon went to Salt Lake with me to pick Josh up. While we were there, Josh bought my engagement ring and he showed it to everyone, including Sherry who lived up North at the time. He carried that ring around for weeks waiting for the perfect time to propose. We hadn't even discussed getting married at that point.
We promised to be nice, but promises are meant to be broken.

Angry eye's! Aaron walked up to me right before this happened and handed me $80 and said,"Here, your going to need this." And like 5 minutes later this happened. I have a great picture of Josh and I just hugging while they sprayed us. We tried to run and gave up when we realized it was a losing battle.

It was so pretty, but extremly hot, especially in that dress. I am so sorry to those of you that came and had to bake in the St. George heat. Rethinking it, I might not have gotten married outside in August.

Silly garter. Ha, and those roses. I hade decided that instead of throwing a boquet, I wanted to throw individual roses. Well we put them in the fridge to keep them pretty and they got frozen!! So when we threw the flowers fell off the stems. It was hysterical!
I am so thankful everyday for the life that Josh and I have made. I am truly blessed to have him in my life. I am thankful for my kids and the life we have together! Love ya 5 lbs. babe!!

And I Found Another Splash Pad

You all probably think I do nothing but go to parks. But heck, it's free entertainment. I have driven by this one a billion times and never stopeed. Then last week we went there with our young women and I knew I had to take my kids. It has the coolest little river that the kids can play in and it's filled with fun rocks for them to climb. AWESOME! And then they also have a way fun splash pad for the kids to run through and downtown St. George is beautiful.

Love this picture of all 3 of my kids.

Because Every Kid Wants to be a Rock Star

J.D. & Neville The Toad

This is the infamous Toad from two posts ago!! J.D. took him to school and gave him to his teacher. He wanted to name him Harry Potter, but I said let's name him Trevor because that is Neville's toad's name on Harry Potter. So he named him Neville! Kids are silly! Gotta love them though!

Another Day in the Park

This is my favorite picture of the whole night!!
First of all, it's because I love Corbin, he is
one of my favorite little punks. Notice the toad
that is jumping onto his chest!! The scream and
the look on his face is priceless!!

We all went ice blocking down this hill.
It was so much fun. Next time we
are going to leave the kids and go
on a group date and do this!

I am ANGRY at Warner Brothers

I need not tell anyone who knows me how big of a Harry Potter fan I am! I almost started to cry when I got the news that Warner Brothers was pushing back the release Date of the Half Blood Prince. Almost an entire year!!!

By the way, isn't Robertt Pattinson beautiful as Edward? Who would have known?

Anyway, back to my venting. I have two theories. One is WB verion! They want to release it on the same weekend as Dark Knight was released, because they think it will gross more profit that way. Pish Posh!! My own personal theory is that they are worried about Twilight stealing some of their thunder. Which is ridiculous.

As a die hard fan of both series, I must honestly say that I had looked forward to November and December because I was going to see both. Not one or the other. Are they freakin' nuts?? The diehard fans are still going to support them. Now all they have managed to do is make us all ANGRY!!! Oh well, not that my opinion counts or anything, but I needed to vent a little. I'll go back to counting down. (BIG SIGH )Only 335 days to go.....................Oh, and I hope JK Rowling is MAD!

But it will all be alright because now I can appreciate Twilight that much more. So ha, ha, ha Warner Brothers.

Out Of The Mouth Of Babes

I just had to share funny story. J.D came home today and told me that they were had a safety assembly at school. He told me about the police officer and how he brought his motorcycle into the gym. And then he was telling me about all the things they taught him.

He started to tell me how if they were home alone and a stranger came to the door that they were not suppossed to open it. And then he says, "But I would get a chair and pull it up to the door and stand on it and shoot them with my bow and arrow." I told him that not all strangers are bad guy's, but he still shouldn't open the door and he says, "Well, if a ninja comes to the door then you know it's a bad guy and then I would shoot him."

I thought this was hysterical. I have to write it down in his journal. They say the darndest things.

Back to School

My baby is in first grade!!! I am so excited, although it's bittersweet. I am going to miss having him home. It's a long day for them. I cried last night and Josh laughed at me. I know he will be fine, but you worry about them. I am worried about him being hungry, of all things. He's a picky eater and I am worried he won't eat school lunch! I am so silly, but you do worry. I also worry about him listening to the teacher and working hard. Not so worried about friends, because he is my social kiddo. Look how handsome he is!

J.D. and BayLee are in diffrent classes this year. J.D. is in Mrs. Bartschie and Bay is in Mrs. Murphy, but their classrooms are right next to each other.
