Hanging Out With Dad

Josh was off today so we spent the day hanging out. We went shopping this morning at D.I. and Old Navy who were having an awesome sale. I got J.D. a bunch of school clothes this morning. Then this afternoon it was pretty nice so we loaded up the 4-wheelers and J.D.'s dirt bike and headed out to the sand dunes. We love to go 4-wheeling and have so much fun every time we do. We need to do it more often because we have the 4-wheelers and everything that goes along with that, but life just gets so busy and sometimes it gets in the way of all the good things in life.

J.D. is doing so awesome at riding his dirt bike all by himself. He did lay it down a few times, but every time is better and better. He was riding around the truck and I could hear him singing to himself as he rode. So funny! He got really embarrassed about it when I asked him about it, but he finally admitted that he was singing.
Tyson in his banana helmet. It cracks me up. Spiderman had to go along with us for the ride. Tyson kept telling me it was fun to ride. He made himself a seat belt out of a bungee cord by attaching it to the rack on the back of the bike. He thought he was pretty cool.

Piper's helmet is about 10 times to big for her and it kept slipping down over her eyes and she had to keep pushing it up. It was so cute. She loves the 4-wheeler and yells, "yeah!" the whole time!

Me and my kiddo's.
Josh and J.D. We all jumped on the bikes and went for a fun ride together. Josh was going up huge hills with them on and spinning donuts. Scares me to death.
We stopped at Costco on our way and grabbed a pizza. We had a picnic in the back of the truck.

Here is Josh showing J.D. how to shoot ants with the b.b. gun.

Where does the time go? That's by baby! He will be 7 in a month. Holy crow how time flies. He's such a good boy. So helpful and so smart. J.D. and I get a long. He is into sports and he loves to read. He is his momma's kid.
More picnicing in the truck.

Dang old mom forgot to bring the diaper bag so we all looked like dirty orphans when it was all said and done.

Mini Grease Monkey

Little girls are suppossed to like dolls and tea parties. NOT MY GIRL! She digs guns, four-wheelers, and working on cars with her dad. It's pretty, cute I must admit. She is so curious as to how everything works. Last night she was helping Josh work on a car in the driveway. Josh loves the fact that it's Piper out there helping him although, he does wish his boys liked it more.

Tadpole Hunting

Today Mandee and I took our kids to the Washington Park to hunt for tadpoles. It is such a pretty park. I love all the shade trees and the walking path with the river running next to it. They also have the funnest canal that runs through the trees, that is full of clean water. The kids got dirty and soaked and then cleaned off in the nifty little canal.

HA, HA, HA! I love this picture. Her diaper expanded so much, that her shorts just couldn't contain it anymore!
J.D. in the stinky water. It smelled so bad, because there are parts of it that are stagnant. I kept telling the kids not to get bit by mosquito's or they would get West Nile Virus. YUCKY!

Still looking for tadpoles, but in the clean water.
Just keep looking, just keep looking.......

Some kind of pink mushroom that I found growing in the river. Interesting.......... If you know about a pink species of mushroom, I would be curious to know what kind it is.......

HA, HA, HA! Mia hates the water. I don't think Mandee's mean at all. They have to get over it sometimes. Silly girl, it was only her toes in the water.

We're going on a nature walk!!

More stinky water!
" Bug, bug, bug," says Piper.

All in all, it was pretty fun and the kids had an absolute blast! We will have to do it again. Logan caught one tadpole and a frog. I saw the frog first, but didn't have the kahunas to jump in the stinky water that was full of West Nile carrying mosquitoes.
I love being a mom!! It's the best job ever! Even when I had to take my stinky water drenched kids into Walmart! Gotta love it!

Sad, sad Piper

Renaissance Fair

This weekend was a great Renaissance fair out in Hurricane. It was a lot of fun and a great big Thank You goes out to Nicole for the free tickets!!!

There was a great show called Knights of Mayhem. This is a picture of the knights jousting. It's not stages and not rehearsed, they actually joust. They are a world champion jousting team that travels all around the world performing. OUCH! It looks like it hurts. My kids were captivated by it.
Piper was hugging on J.D. and it was so cute, I am glad I caught this picture.

I'm telling you, they did not move during the show. They loved it.
Me and J.D. during the show.

Shooting archery! My kids love bows and J.D. has a compound bow, but this was little different for him. And Tyson was cracking me up! He is so uncoordinated. The poor guy had to help Tyson with every shot.
Grandma Becky and and Aunt Maggie went with us, but they mostly wondered through the shops while we were outside. We did go and watch Brooklyn sing and wandered through the shops after the shows. J.D. got this awesome sword in the stone and Tyson got a Harry Potter wand. It was a lot of fun!

Sometimes We Need a Reminder

I taught a really good lesson, (at least I think it went well) on the importance of keeping our personal records. I must admit, that I stink at writing in my journal, but for some reason the blog is easier for me to keep updated. Go figure... So here is another one of my random little updates on the happenings at the Doty house.

Josh spends his Sunday at the church as usual. He's the ward financial clerk, and always stays late every week. We got a new bishopric today and Josh was hoping that he would be released, but it's a no go at least for now. He's been in the calling for 4 years, poor guy :(. Right now he's taking his customary Sunday evening nap on the couch and yelling at the kids when they pester him. Typical Sunday at the Doty's.

J.D. is driving me mad!! He won't leave me alone about playing the computer and he wants a stinkin' bowl of ice cream. WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM! The boy is ruled by his stomach.

Tyson is running around in his power ranger costume. Typical, every day occurrence for Tyson. He is either Spiderman or a power ranger. The boy is accident prone lately. He jumped off the bed the other day and hit his head on the book shelf. Then on Wednesday he tripped and fell at the park and clotheslined himself on some rope that was roping off some new grass. He looks like we beat him.

Piper is as crazy as ever. Running around naked and not caring at all to potty train! She is turning 2 in a week and I can hardly believe she is that big. I don't think she really qualifies as a baby any more. SAD!! She still isn't talking much. She say 's mine, no don't, mom, dad, JD, Tyson and dog. That is about it. She is cute though and a joy to have around. She makes me smile. Silly girl.

We are so excited for summer vacation and we have every single day planned out. Will we really be able to follow it? I doubt it, but we'll give it a good effort. Have a beautiful Sunday!

Preschool Water Party

Preschool Program

Tyson's preschool program was so stinin' cute. They sang a ton of fun songs and showed us all of the fun things they had done. Tyson actually got up and sang. I was really suprised, but he was quite animated and so cute to watch. He's pretty proud of himself. I love that kid.

Preschool Pictures

It's so sad that school is out for the summer. Tyson loved preschool this year and every single morning he would wake up and ask me if it was a preschool day. He loved his teachers, Marnie, Tara and Barb. He had a lot of fun going with Brenden and Corbin this year. Marnie is AMAZING! She took over 4,700 pictures this year and I bought a disc and went through them last night and pulled out some of my favorites. He's already looking forward to next year!! So am I!!!

Tysons Prayer

This is the prayer we had over our breakfast this morning. His sincerety and the deepest desires of my heart make me laugh and yet are touching at the same time. I had to share this.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for this day and for our blessings. And please bless me that I can go to Disneyland and the beach today by myself. Please bless me that I can see Bolt and Penny and shoot Buzz Lightyear and be so excited! Please bless me that I can say hi to Woody.
Amen.

Piper Has Shy Toes

Random Post

Where has the year gone? We have a busy weekend with Fathers and Sons and next week is insanely busy with end of school parties and programs. I can't believe J.D. will be in 2nd grade next year. I know he is not old, but he's not so little anymore. Tyson still has one more year of preschool, which is crazy because he is almost 5, but I am secretly glad to have him home for one more year. He is my sweetie-pie!

Piper is Piper. What can I say? She has an appointment to go and get tubes in her ears for June 4th, just 2 days after her birthday. I can hardly believe my baby is 2. So sad to, that she is my last baby! WAHHHHHH! I still want another baby, but we'll see what Heavenly Father has planned for us.

Our chickens are great! Talk about random. We got 2 full grown chickens that are laying eggs and I already have eggs coming out of my ears. What shall I do when all 6 of them are laying eggs? They are fun. The little ones run around in the back yard and they have yet to escape. I may just let them be wild. Who knows?

We've been working on the yard every night and we are making great progress. I told Josh tonight that I was rocking the whole yard. I AM SICK OF PULLING WEEDS! Sick of it, I tell you. Okay, so maybe not, because rocks have a tendency to be thrown at windows at my house. But we've got to do something.

Busy, busy, busy! Girls camp is 4 weeks away and I will be so happy when it is all over! I am excited though, because we are going to Marysvale! Yeah! How fun will that be? I hope they like it. We are going to go to Fremont Indian State Park and we are going to hike to the waterfalls. Lot's of other suprises in store!! Should be fun!

Josh is just busy. Busy, busy, busy! Fixing cars for everyone and doing his own thing. Half the time I know not where he is, but it works for us! He is way excited for Fathers and Sons. I will post some pictures on Monday of the great campers! HA! They aren't roughing it, that 's for sure. We bought the cutest camper last year and have yet to use it, so Josh cleaned it all up and a camping they will go!

Random thoughts from a random person! Thanks for stopping by!

I Love It When We All Get Along

Cinnamon Rolls

Nothing beats a homemade cinnamon roll! Especially one with vanilla pudding in the dough! These are a favorite at our house, but alas, we don't make them often enough. It's one of those things that we just can't get enough of and I am POSITIVE that they are oh, so fattening. But oh, so YUMMY!

I am Proud to be a Mom

Being mother is a full time job, but the best job in the entire world! These three little rugrats are my life! I love them beyond comprehension and without limits!

I am proud to be a mother! I am proud that I have been entrusted with these children. I am grateful that Heavenly Father has faith in me to raise them. I am grateful for His love and the evidence of it in my life. I am His daughter and this is the calling He has bestowed upon me.

We as women have many divine attributes that were given to us for the specific purpose of being mother. Heavenly Father knew what gifts we would need and provided them to us. Not to say that every day is full of PATIENCE, but Heavenly Father granted women with an extra measure to be sure.

Oh, there are day's when I want to pull the covers up over my head and throw a temper tantrum. I'm entitled to those day's because being a mother is hard work! It's frustrating and trying. Sometimes the day's are endless and I feel like I am being tugged in 1,000 different directions. Some day's I forget who I am. But all that I am, I give to my children. I pray that it is enough.

Is it worth it? Oh yes! The rewards and benefits far surpass the rough days and the trying times. Butterfly kisses and bedtime stories! The laughter and the joy! The excitement of watching your children as they learn new things and their fascination with all the wonders of this beautiful world which we have been blessed with. The smell of a new baby and the chance to blow raspberries on baby tummies! And baby bums!! Oh, how I love them. Chubby fingers and finger paint, the blessing of mommy hugs and how they make everything all better!

Would I do it again? Absolutely! There is no higher calling that I could have in this earthly world. This is beautiful and inspired! There is so much to learn from this talk. I pray that I can be a mother who raises righteous children. I pray that I can be a mother who teaches, who leads, who is an example, who loves.

To my own mother ~ I love you and thank you for your example and your love ! Your amazing. You've faced so much and still managed to raise 4 FABULOUS CHILDREN! I applaud you! I love you!

To my mother-in-law ~ Thank you for raising such a great son! He is the most amazing husband and I love him. Thank you for the love you show to our family and all that you do!

To all the other mothers in my life ~ I can't list names, there are too many of you who have been examples in my life. Thank you for your random acts of kindness and lessons taught. Thank you for your friendship and for the examples you are! You are amazing women!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Hope it is beautiful and full of happy laughter and lots of love! Remember, you deserve to be honored!

Cascade Falls

We went to Marysvale this weekend to scout out some places for girls camp and to take some pictures. We went up to the falls and hiked a little bit. It was fun to visit some places I hadn't been in years.
Hiking, hiking, hiking! Okay, so we really only hiked the last 400 feet of the trail, but it is the narrowest and rockiest part of the whole hike! We would have dont the whole thing but it was raining and hailing on us.
The kids had so much fun just hanging out! They alway's have a great time.

The Cascade Falls are located up Bullion Canyon in Marysvale. It is a 60 foot waterfall that is absolutely breathtaking!
