Hanging Out With Dad

Josh was off today so we spent the day hanging out. We went shopping this morning at D.I. and Old Navy who were having an awesome sale. I got J.D. a bunch of school clothes this morning. Then this afternoon it was pretty nice so we loaded up the 4-wheelers and J.D.'s dirt bike and headed out to the sand dunes. We love to go 4-wheeling and have so much fun every time we do. We need to do it more often because we have the 4-wheelers and everything that goes along with that, but life just gets so busy and sometimes it gets in the way of all the good things in life.

J.D. is doing so awesome at riding his dirt bike all by himself. He did lay it down a few times, but every time is better and better. He was riding around the truck and I could hear him singing to himself as he rode. So funny! He got really embarrassed about it when I asked him about it, but he finally admitted that he was singing.
Tyson in his banana helmet. It cracks me up. Spiderman had to go along with us for the ride. Tyson kept telling me it was fun to ride. He made himself a seat belt out of a bungee cord by attaching it to the rack on the back of the bike. He thought he was pretty cool.

Piper's helmet is about 10 times to big for her and it kept slipping down over her eyes and she had to keep pushing it up. It was so cute. She loves the 4-wheeler and yells, "yeah!" the whole time!

Me and my kiddo's.
Josh and J.D. We all jumped on the bikes and went for a fun ride together. Josh was going up huge hills with them on and spinning donuts. Scares me to death.
We stopped at Costco on our way and grabbed a pizza. We had a picnic in the back of the truck.

Here is Josh showing J.D. how to shoot ants with the b.b. gun.

Where does the time go? That's by baby! He will be 7 in a month. Holy crow how time flies. He's such a good boy. So helpful and so smart. J.D. and I get a long. He is into sports and he loves to read. He is his momma's kid.
More picnicing in the truck.

Dang old mom forgot to bring the diaper bag so we all looked like dirty orphans when it was all said and done.

Sand Cove

We drove up to Sand cove today and let the kids just run around for a few hours. Mostly we skipped rocks and just walked. The boys had a blast. Piper slept through the whole thing!! Lucky girl, wish I could have gotten a nap. Josh was telling the boy's that Grandad Ward was the best rock skipper he had ever seen. He said he could skip rocks, no matter if they were flat or round. Any size rock would do. He said Grandad learned how to do it well, because he grew up fishing in the rivers in Idaho. Cool story. I told Josh he needs to write down all the stories that he remembers, so that we can preserve them for our kids and their kids.

Anyway, it was a great day. It was beautiful and I was with my family, what more could I ask for?

J.D. the Superhero

I had the chance to talk to Tyson's preschool teacher today. She told me the cutest story about Tyson. I had to document it so that I could always remember this.

Marnie asked Tyson who his favorite super hero was. He said it was, "J.D.". Now Marnie was J.D.'s preschool teacher also. So she asked him, "Is J.D. a super hero?" "Yep," said Tyson. Marnie asked him if he could fly and Tyson said, "yep". Brenden was arguing with Tyson and telling him that J.D. wasn't a superhero that he was a human and Tyson got really upset and kept arguing that J.D. was a super hero.

I told J.D. about it tonight at dinner and I told him that he had a big responsibility to be a superhero to his big brother!!! It is one of the sweetest things I have ever heard!!
