The Best FHE Treat Ever

Popcorn and Hot Choclate with the cool, Redi Whip, whip cream! Never mind the fact that we eat popcorn probably 4 nights a week (it's a Doty thing), my kids were so excited for popcorn for family night! Cracks me up! I love it because there is little to no mess to clean up. Unless you give Piper the bowl, and that's a whole diffrent story.

Piper and Tyson

These two crack me up! Piper wants to be wherever Tyson is. It's so cute, but it drives Tyson crazy!! He trys to get away from her and she just follows him and snuggles right up. I hope they are alway's close. I think they have a special relationship because they are home together all day while J.D. is gone, so it's like the Tyson and J.D. relationship used to be.

But see, he really does love her. Nothing warms a mom's heart like kids who get a long and love each other!

Homemade Pizza and a Pesky Girl

Pesky, pesky girl!! All covered in flour. She loved helping to make homemade pizza. She was in the flour, on the counter, eating dough and ruining her brother's pizza's all at the same time! I remember doing this as a kid and it was so much fun. Next time I do individual pizza's with the kids though, I'll use biscuit dough, it would be so much easier.

FUNNY! Piper kept eating the dough. She got a huge mouthful with this one and she was trying to spit it out, but it was all stringy and gross looking.

The kids loved making their own pizza. This is again, one of those things that I will have to call my Mom and tell her thank you for!! She always made homemade pizza and it was so fun as a kid. So exasperating as an adult. But again, it's all about the memories we make!!

A Day In The Park

It was a beautiful fall day today! Absolutely gorgeous so we went to the park to play. The kids had a good time running all over the place. They rode bikes and spent a long time rolling down the hill into the baseball field. Even Piper got in on the fun.

J.D. and Breckin have numbers on the front of their bikes. They wanted to have a bike rally! So cute! They rode their bikes all over the park and from my house to the park and back!! And it's up hill coming back. They are a couple of tough little cookies.

They kept taking turn throwing the water bottle and then they would all run to try and get to it first. This game went on for about 15 minutes.

Best buddies. Breckin lives just around the corner from us and they do have a good time together.
And this tree was just pretty! You don't usually see many fall leaves in St. George, they go from green to brown! So this is a just because picture!!

What Did You Do Today?

Tyson and Carsyn loved putting the candy corn on the cookie. Lot's of fun!
Piper decided to skip the step where you put frosting on the cookie. Why frost a cookie, when you can just eat the frsoting?

Sunday Dinner at Grandma & Grandpa's

I've really been slacking out updating my blog lately. I wish I had some great reason as to why I haven't but I've just been really busy being a mom! Sunday we Josh's whole family got together to have dinner at his parent's house. My father-in-law, Scott, was ordained a High Priest and so the whole family came out to celebrate. It was a fun and lazy Sunday afternoon. The kid's all did really well and there wasn't too much craziness.

These are a Few of my Favorite Things

When I had the chance to go to Time Out For Women, the very talented and beautiful Hillary Weeks was there. Her music is amazing!! But she had written a fun little song set to the tune of These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things. I can't tell you all the words, but the chorus goes like this "Bedtime and naptime and Bedtime and naptime." And that was all I could remember. But mostly it talked about the kids sleeping. I love sleeping babies. It is one of my favorite things.

I Need Some Spiritual Enlightenment

Feeling a little down today!! Nothing major. Yesterday was a crummy day. The election made me upset and then my brother-in-law was in an accident at work. I'm worried about him and my sister. He's okay, but he is in the hospital, but it could have been so much worse. So I woke up and went surfing for some spiritual enlightenment this morning. I found two quotes I want to share with you!!

"Let me say again that the family is the main target of evil’s attack and must therefore be the main point of our protection and defense. As I said once before, when you stop and think about it from a diabolically tactical point of view, fighting the family makes sense to Satan. When he wants to disrupt the work of the Lord, he doesn’t poison the world’s peanut butter supply, thus bringing the Church’s missionary system to its collective knees. He doesn’t send a plague of laryngitis to afflict the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. He doesn’t legislate against green Jell-O and casseroles. When evil wants to strike out and disrupt the essence of God’s work, it attacks the family. It does so by attempting to disregard the law of chastity, to confuse gender, to desensitize violence, to make crude and blasphemous language the norm, and to make immoral and deviant behavior seem like the rule rather than the exception.

We need to remember Edmund Burke’s statement: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

M. Russell Ballard

“We have a greater challenge than we realize. … 'Do the best you can.’ But I want to emphasize that it be the very best. … We are capable of doing so much better. … “… We must get on our knees and plead with the Lord for help and strength and direction. We must then stand on our feet and move forward."

President Gordon B. Hinckley

I'm doing the best I can! Now I am going to say a prayer and get up and move forward. I'm off to play with my kids. Have a great day!!!

Halloween Pictures

I love Halloween! I love all the costumes and the candy and the excitement it instills in my children. We went to my in-law's neighborhood to trick-or-treat. They still do that, on that silly old trunk-or-treat. We met up with the Graff cousins and with Mandee and her kids. It was a lot of fun. We only stayed out for an hour because, really who needs that much cand? I am a picture taker and had 72 pictures to pick from! Here are just a few.

Stinkin' cute lady bug
Tyson wanted to be Speed Racer so bad. We searched all over for a costume, but not one store had one. I tried to put him in a Spiderman costume and he threw a fit. Trina called me on Thursday and said she had bought him Speed Racer pajama's for his birthday and she would just give them to him early and let him borrow Corbin's Speed Racer Helmet. He was the happiest kid on earth!!

This costume started out as Lane Frost and ended up as Vampire Cowboy!
