Due West

I LoVe these guys.  I've blogged about them before.  I've been to a couple of concerts, I've met Tim Gates and all that good jazz.  My mother-in-law got some tickets for the show that they were doing at the Jubilee of Tree's this year.  Alway's glad to go and watch them jam out.
Josh went with me this time.  He hasn't seen them yet.  He liked them.
My sweetie-pie Sarah went with us too.  She and I were up dancing the whole time.
Eva even got to go.  She loved it.  She was so intersted in watching it and dancing with everyone.
I think Josh likes her.  What do you think????

A "Hair"owwing experience

My good friend Jess owns Colour Hair and Body Spa.  She asked if I wanted to come in and be a model for a color class that she was teaching.  I was super excited to get some fun highlights in my hair, so I said yes.  I went in and got my hair done and that was fun.  I was supposed to come back to help with a class that night.  She said wear all black and be back at 3:30, we are going to do some fun up do's before the class.

Well, this wasn't exactly what I had in mind.  A super tall and skinny gay guy named Chad did this to my hair.  I don't think the whole class was to going to originally be like this, but you roll with it.  I felt like I was on some type of reality TV show.  It was the most surreal experience of my life.

My head weighed a million pounds and I had about 100 bobby pins in my hair along with all of the extensions.  It was insane!  I was definitely out of my comfort zone by a long shot, but I did it.  Don't think I would do it again, but it was fun to have the experience.

Sweet Moments

Today was a good day.

I had some sweet experiences with my kids.  There were of course moments that weren't so sweet.  For instance, tonight in Lins, I went grocery shopping with all 3 of my kids.  Not sweet, but the rest of these moments make up for that one moment of craziness.

I went to pick JD up from choir today and it was cold and starting to rain.  I was a just a few minutes late getting to the school and JD was waiting outside and pacing the sidewalk.  He looked really agitated.  The first thing he said was, "Mom, we've got to go find my friend Nolan.  He had to walk home and he has not coat.  I tried to give him my sweatshirt, but he wouldn't take it.  Can we go find him and give  him a ride?"
We went looking for Nolan and found him just down from the school.  The rain was starting to drizzle.  We tried to give him a ride, but he wouldn't accept it.  He was just about in tears. We tried to get him to take JD's sweater, but he kept saying no.  Finally, JD asked me to stop the car.  He jumped out and ran his sweater over to Nolan and made him take it.  He got back in and I watched Nolan pull on his sweatshirt and my heart was so full.  I am raising a sweet, sweet spirit.  He has so much compassion and empathy for others.  It was a sweet moment.

Later,  I was working with JD on his cubscout book.  We worked on the Duty to God chapter.  He was amazing me with his answers to the questions I was asking.  He is so full of knowledge.  He does listen!!!  I was so proud of how much he knew and how he answered the questions so thoughtfully.  He is going to be an amazing man someday.  I am so blessed that he calls me mom.

Laying on the couch tonight with Tyson after family home evening.  We were talking about being a missionary like Abinidi and Alma.  I asked Tyson if he was going to go on a mission.  He said, "Nope, I'd miss you to much."  It melted my heart.  He's a good kid.  A momma's boy, but oh so sweet and good.

And of course, we can't forget little Miss Piper.  The girl makes me climb the walls most days.  Today was no exception.  She is as sweet as she is full of attitude.  Today she was all over me, hugging me and kissing me all day.  She is my little angel.  I told her that I loved her this morning and she said, "Love you too!  And Poppa, and JD, and Tyse and my daddy!"

I had to write these moments down.  It seems that they are growing way to fast.  I miss them being babies.  At dinner Tyson told me that he wanted another brother.  I told him that we weren't going to have anymore kids.  And so we talked about that.  We talked about why they wanted another baby and we talked about what we would name a baby.  Just silly talk.  Tyson wants a brother but if we had a girl he wants to name her Jesabell.  And JD said, "I'm gonna pray to Heavenly Father for a brother."

Just sweet little moments.  I love my kids so much and am so thankful to be their mommy.

Halloween 2010

Tyson was Luke Skywalker.  This awesome costume came from Shelley.  She made it for her boys a few years back.  So cute!!
Piper the Flutterfly!  The tutu came from Shelley and so did the shirt and the cute shoes!  Geez, you'd think I wasn't very creative.  I had this general idea, but was having a hard time putting it all together.
J.D. was Prince Daston.  I had to order this costume off the Internet, because it was nowhere to be found in St. George.  It got here and it was to small, but we made it work.
All my kiddo's and an extra!  J.D.'s little friend, Ryland did our wards trunk-or-treat with us.
Piper and her darling little friend Truly!!  They were both so cute!
After the trunk-or-treat we went to the Doty's to trick-or-treat in their neighborhood.  Here is all the cousins.
Ha, ha, ha,ha!!! Paul is one of my very favorite people.  He was dressed up as mad cow disease.  Hilarious!!!
Cute, cute pumpkin Eva!  I love her.  She makes my uterus do flip-flops!  Seriously!
Ran into Mandee and then for like 2 seconds.  Here is Baylee. She looked awesome as the 1/2 angel, 1/2 devil chick!
Varney, Grandpa and Josh. Now there is trouble!

Shelley and her family met up with us for a few minutes over in Santa Clara, but it was really dark and so I didn't get many great pictures.  It was so much fun to see everyone though!   I am so glad that Halloween is over.  It seemed to be the holiday that never ended!

Carving pumpkins

Carving pumpkins!
Who doesn't have that tradition?
The kids love it.
I made them promise me that we wouldn't get crazy like we did last. year.
J.D. was a sport and gutted his own pumpkin this year.

Sarah!  She's my doll!  I'm considering adopting her :).

I made Tyson attempt to gut his pumpkin.
 He almost threw up.
It was hilarious!
Sarah pretty much took care of Piper and her pumpkin.
It was awesome.
She even bathed her afterwards.
I love her!
All our pumpkins you will find in a row!

Elk Hunt

Waiting to take off up the mountain.
 Varney
 Scott
Aaron

My sweetie!

This year the guys headed up to Modena to hunt.  They had heard from a friend of Scott's that there was a big herd of elk up by this guys property.  Well, there wasn't and so they headed up to Marysvale.  They did so some elk, but no one got anything.  They all had spike tags.  They had  fun even if they didn't get anything.

Blessings

In the day to day of life, sometimes it gets crazy.
It's hard sometimes to treasure the small moments.
I am so glad that sometimes I do.

Heavenly Father has truly blessed me with 3 great kids.
They are the joy in my life and I love them more than anything!

Tarzan

We went to see Tarzan at Tuacahn last Wednesday.  It was amazing! I loved seeing Tyson's face.  He is still at the age where he is awestruck by all of it.  J.D. kept pointing out to me that everything is fake, but he had a blast.  It was so well done and the cast was amazing!
Last night we watched the movie. It's been all they have been able to talk about.  Tyson kept asking, "Where's George?"  I don't think he can differentiate the two!  It was pretty cute.  They keep ripping their shirts off and beating on their chests.  I'm glad they had a good time.  I love being able to spend time with them.

Sunday Drive

Last Sunday, we drove up to Kolob. It was a beautiful and cloudy day.
It rained on us, but the cool air was so refreshing and the leaves to beautiful

This is Tyson checking out initials.  Josh carved those the day after we got married.
J.D. riding the little 4-wheeler.
This picture kills me.  Tyson using the fun little outside potty!
He may hate me someday for these!
Josh and his girlie swinging on the swing.
Me and the Pip!
Oh heavens!!  They built a zip line up at the cabin.  It's a bike seat hooked up to what looks like a weight set.  The kind you do butterflies on.  Josh tested it out to make sure it would work.  He thought it was pretty ingenious, because it had brakes to slow yourself down.
Tyson tried it.  He liked it until he hit the tree.  He hit the brakes a bit to late, but he managed to stay on.
J.D. loved it.  He would have ridden it all night if we had let him.
Josh and Tyson riding the little 4-wheeler.
What a couple of good-lookin' boys!
I am so blessed to have such a beautiful family!

Community Carnival

I didn't have my camera.  Josh did, so I only got a few photo's.  The reason I didn't have my camera?  I was in charge of this here chindig!  And not to toot my own horn, it was a huge success!!
We had inflatables, games, food and lot's of fun.
My gosh he is a stud!
We even had a magic show.  It was so much fun and so much work!  The kids really enjoyed it and that was really, what it was about.  I know I am crazy, but I think I am going to do it agian next year!  Crazy??  Possibly.
