Baseball Star

I know I'm his mom. And therefore, I am prejudice, but this kid can play.
He can smack the ball clear back to the outfield! The coach's wife, Sharon and I are friends. She told me the other night after practice. "Greg say's Tyson is the team superstar."

Oh, it's so much fun to see him play ball. He's a natural athlete. He doesn't sit and play in the dirt like the rest of his team. I think it's because he knows his mom wouldn't put up with it. I told him, that if you play in the dirt, you sit on the bench. I'm a mean mom. But I think it's important that he learns to be serious about it, even at his age. They all did very well though. It's hard to be 5 and have the attention span that you need to.
He is a superstar in my book!

Memorable Moments

Sometimes I think that I have nothing truly intersting to blog about. But honestly, this blog is my journal. I type faster than I write!

Memorable moments this week included;
Piper ripping open the bag of powdered sugar with her teeth.
Josh shaving his head :(. It makes me sad every year.
Making cereal sculptures with the Young Women.
J.D. went on a field trip with is class to the Washington Cotton Days.
Watching Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Definitely a boy humor movie. My boys laughed and laughed.
Josh surprising me with a new camera for Mothers Day.
Tyson bleeding insane amounts of blood from a tiny split in his head. Kaleb hit him in the head with a rock.
Happy Mothers Day!

Piper & Cason

Am I in trouble or what? I think Piper is a little more involved in the relationship than Cason. What do you think?

We Need One of These

Saturday was the Iron Man competition here in Dixie. It was truly cook and pretty inspiring to think about. Our little town had a Fitness Festival down at the park. They had a few fun activity for the kids and this was one of them. It's so cool! My kids could have played on it for hours. Tyson tried to do a flip, but it failed and J.D. wouldn't even attempt it. I imagine it feels quite weird to be in the harness. But it is definitely cool!

Michael

So this was a great weekend. Another beautiful weekend to remember always. I got to hang out with all the Carter family for Cole's blessing. Adam and Lindsay came down for the weekend and we love getting to hang with them. They have such cute boys. I didn't even get a picture of Quinton, because honestly I don't think he likes me, but Michael and I sure bonded!

He is possibly one of the cutest babies I have ever seen. Seriously, don't those eye's and cheeks scream cuteness.
He's also one of the most even tempered babies I've had the pleasure of knowing.
I spent a good chunk of Saturday holding him. And it made me happy beyond belief. It made my insides do crazy things and made me lose my mind. Poor Josh has been plagued all weekend with requests to let me have another baby!
Tyson loved him so much, he asked me if he could get another brother.
What a couple of cute boys!
Look at those big baby blues!
We were bored, so of course, we had to take some self-portraits. I like this one best. My gosh, but I like him more! Thanks Adam and Lindsay for making such cute babies and then letting me hold them. It made my weekend! Seriously!! It was so good to see you guys!

Beautiful

It has been the greatest weekend. A great week, really. I love those weeks where life just sort of floats on by and you just get a chance to be carried along and enjoy the ride.

Of course, there has been kids to chase and a house to be cleaned. That is just part of life. I've had projects to work on, chances to work and chances to play, but it has just been a beautiful sort of week. I've had 3 friends who have been through some significant trials this week. And maybe that is what makes me appreciate this sort of a week. I've had the chance to help out, to give advice, but mostly to be a listening ear and sometimes I've been able to help. I like that.

I was able to spend a few day's at the preschool. I love happy smiling faces and big hugs. Most of the time, it makes me happy to play at the school. I really do love doing it.

I was able to spend some time crafting this week. I worked on making more flowers. Sometimes that does seem never ending, but I enjoy it. I was also able to go to Kris's house and work on the baby shower with her and Mandee.
I was uplifted at a Young Women Leadership training that I attended with Shay. It's so nice to be friends with those, whom I serve.

I was able to attend a BBQ for Aaron's 3oth birthday. That is the first time we have had separate birthday parties in years! Boy, we are getting old, okay, no old, but older. It's just another stepping stone. The weather was beautiful, the company was great and the food good! And the cake, oh the cake. Good cake makes me happy!

Today, I was able to help host Maggie's shower and it was beautiful and came together well, despite how unprepared we were. I hope she enjoyed it.

The rest of this day has just sort of floated by. I have one load of laundry left. The T.V. has been off all day, and that makes me mood happy and light. We finally got our trampoline set up and that makes my kids happy! Me to! Now I can send them outside to jump and hope, that they are not wandering the neighborhood. We had a fend for yourself kind of dinner. I was going to go get Pizza, but was to lazy to drive to town and get it. And that's okay. Leftovers and hot dogs. And later, we'll snuggle and watch a movie and eat air-popped popcorn. That is the perfect way to end this week.

I am grateful today! I am blessed and I am thankful for that.

Kite Festival

The kite festival fell on my birthday this year! And it was a great way to spend the day with my kids. We tried to fly kites, but the wind did not want to cooperate. We played the free kids games. Hung out with the Dover's and a big thank you goes to Adam for your help with kites!!
We ran into the Carters and the Smith's. Some of our favorite, cousins, who aren't really our cousins, but they are!! Does that make sense? Anywhoo, love all of them!

I got to snuggle with my newest sweetie pie, Cole! He makes me have crazy thoughts, like maybe, just maybe, Josh and I should have another baby. What do you think? Crazy!! I may be!!

I let the kids ride the Stahelie Farm train.

There are no pictures of J.D. because I forgot to put the memory card in my camera and only had 3 pictures that I could take. The rest I stold from Andie and Trina.
What's a kite festival without Star Wars characters? Tyson wouldn't pose with them because he was scared. Which is funny because he totally kicked Dark Vaders butt at Disneyland. Maybe he thinks Dark Vader wants revenge. I don't know!
It was a great day and we had a lot of fun!

SURPRISE

I made it absolutely clear to everyone in my life, I wanted no fan fare for my 30th birthday. Please, I just want it to be low key. And everyone agreed. And I AM THE DUMBEST PERSON IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!

Seriously!!

The Friday before my birthday, the 9th, Josh told me had gotten a babysitter and was planning on taking me to Clash of The Titans. I was shocked!! But whatever, okay!! I was super excited! So he came home and I was in jeans and a t-shirt. He asked me why I wasn't ready, and I said, "It's dark. No one is going to care what I look like at the theater." And then he said, "Well, don't you want to look sexy for me?" Um, no!! Anyway, he convinced me to go and get ready.

Mandee called just as we were leaving and asked if I had any spaghetti sauce. She was supposed to be helping with an Elders Quorum party and the girl who was supposed to bring the spaghetti sauce, didn't' bring it. Would I mind stopping by on our way to the movie to drop off the cans I had?

Sure. Grumble, grumble, we are going to be late to the movie. Josh is all calm and collected. He's telling me not to worry, we'll make it on time. So we get to the church and no cars are in the parking lot. None! Weird, but Mandee comes out and asks Josh if he can hurry and help her open a door that stuck.

I still had no idea what was going on! So we went inside and Mandee said, "Here let's go through the gym to the kitchen." So she throws open the door and I see a bunch of really familiar people standing there. I made to go straight, but Josh shoved me in the door and everyone yelled,
" Surprise!"

I was so shocked. I really had no idea at all! The gym looked so beautiful. Mandee, Kris, and Maggie did a fabulous job with the decorations, the food, and the guest list. They had a lot of help from my hubby. They even had a slide show of pictures! When Josh had his broken back, they came up and went through all of my pictures. They even read the autobiography I wrote for College Prep English! Yikes! Sorry Rowland and Kris. You learned much more about me that you really needed to!
Adam kept putting the cone on my head, it made a great party hat.
I did get a little bit emotional after I watched the slide show. It's amazing how much you can accomplish in 3o-years. At the end of the video it showed something similar to credits and added all the important people in my life. At the very end it said. Please don't kill us! It was pretty funny.

It really was very beautiful. We had a sit down dinner and played a game of How Well do you know Brandy? It was a lot of fun!
Thanks to everyone who plotted against me!! I still can't believe I didn't have any idea. It was a lovely night!

My Side of the Family

I love my family! I do, I do! I love to go home to Marysvale. It was such a great place to grow up and a great place to be from. Easter weekend, my whole family was in town. It was great. The only one I don't get to see often is Danny, but it was fun to have all of us together.
My whole family. This is the first time we have all had a picture done in years!
Grandma and all her grandkids!

We had a tetherball tournament. I lost. I was the first one out. I think I want a tetherball post in my yard now. Apparently I suck, though. So maybe not.

Watching Sherry and Austin play was hysterical! He's like a foot taller than her!!

Ah, Dahni! Love you all!
